"Grief is like the ocean: it comes in waves ebbing and flowing. Sometimes the water is calm and sometimes it is overwhelming. All we can do is learn to swim."

Family Dynamics

The death of a family member does not only affect you; it can ripple out into family dynamics, complicating relationships as each person expresses their grief differently. Understanding these dynamics can be crucial in navigating your way through loss. I will work with you to explore these complexities and facilitate healthier communication among family members, fostering an environment where everyone feels supported while grieving.

Grieving Alone

For many, the grieving process is compounded by feelings of isolation, especially for those grieving alone due to complicated relationships, such as a secret romance or estrangement. This isolation can deepen feelings of sadness and despair, making it even more challenging to navigate your grief. As your bereavement counsellor, I provide a safe and understanding space for you to express your emotions without fear of judgement, helping you feel less alone in this painful journey.

Process and Progress

Grieving is a long process, and it is perfectly normal to feel overwhelmed. However, I believe that progress can be seen even within six sessions. With my guidance as a counsellor in Plymouth, we will work together to identify coping strategies and resources that are most effective for you. Your wellbeing is always of paramount importance to me, and I am here to help you move forward with compassion and understanding.
