Person Centred Counselling
Why Choose Forget Me Not Counselling?
I believe in a compassionate and understanding approach to counselling, which is why I have dedicated my practice to person centred counselling. My journey began over 5 years ago when I experienced counselling myself - it was a life-changing moment that inspired me to help others feel supported in their own journeys. I have volunteered with Cruse Bereavement Support for three years, assisting individuals through various grief experiences, whether the loss was recent or many years past. Grieving is complex and nuanced; family dynamics often shift, complicating how each person expresses their grief. Even in the toughest circumstances, I have seen individuals make meaningful progress within just six sessions.
With my person centred counselling, I am here to support people facing anxiety and depression, as I understand how vital self-care and self-compassion are on the road to recovery. Many clients come to me feeling unworthy of love and struggling to even like themselves. Discovering that you are deserving of kindness can be a profound leap forward. The pressures of daily life often overshadow our innate worth and the simple joys we can offer ourselves and others. It is crucial to remember that everyone has value; sometimes, it just gets buried beneath life's stresses.
With over 15 years of experience in care and support, I have developed a deep understanding of various personal challenges. I also have first-hand experience with dementia, having cared for my mother. This personal connection informs my person centred counselling and fuels my passion for supporting both individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. I recognise that the loss of a beloved pet can be heart-wrenching, and I include this in my bereavement counselling. Life transitions, whether anticipated or unexpected—such as retirement, redundancy, or divorce—are threads that weave through our existence. If you find yourself grappling with the complexities of these changes, know that you do not have to navigate this journey alone. I am here to walk alongside you with kindness, compassion, and respect.

I offer a complimentary 30-minute consultation to help us determine if we can work well together. This initial meeting is essential for building a trusting relationship—something I prioritise in my practice. It allows us to explore your unique needs and how I can best assist you on your journey. From there we can arrange face-to-face counselling in Plymouth or within a 10 mile radius, or we can arrange telephone counselling if you prefer, or if you live further away.
To book your initial consultation, please contact me at caroline@forgetmenotcounselling.co.uk or call 07840 320950. I look forward to supporting you.
